Platinum Egoist
A LITTLE BACKGROUND...

Recently I am still very much engaged with ------- GACKT (hahaha, no surprise there)~
And yes I do promise this is the last time I'll be on computer for fun until exams are over (next Saturday).
I really like his personality, his songs or should I say compositions, and of course his appearance. I wish I know him and work with him and become friends with him. He's always so hard-working, dedicated and goal-oriented -- all the things that I aim to be. And of course the other side of his personality attract me a great deal too (the cold/distant/egoistic side -- is this good at all ?! o_____o)
Yes, this is my understanding of Gackt.
His Career: He is a successful artist in Japanese music industry. He used to be lead singer from Malice Mizer - a popular gothic J-rock band in the 90s. He made his first single debut in late 90s, kicking off his career as single male artist. His friends performing with him on stage are called Gackt Job. In his career, he has made a reputation in japanese entertainment industry for having unique personality. In 2007, he has acted in renown Japanese traditional drama - Fuurin Kazan. After years of hardwork, his most recent single (from Jun 2007) has earned him the first place on Oricon for Male Artists Singles. (Oricon is the renowned Japanese music hitlist.) His new album will be coming out in a few weeks this winter.
In Person: Alongside the fact that he is hardworking, dedicated and goal-oriented to get to where he is right now. He, like a lot of J-rock or even just rock artist, is known for having "unique" personalities. He is mysterious. Despite how much he talks about his huge home, no one, except his close friends, knows where he lives. Compared to many Japanese artists, he does not make appearances on television shows much; however, on the other hand, he seems to be extremely wealthy like a lot of j-rock stars..(probably from investments and other projects...). He is said to not have a girlfriend for over 10 years, due to his very high standards!!! =P He is said to sleep only a few hours a day (like ranging from 2 - 4....man....who does that!) He doesn't like to look at mirrors because he doesn't like the reflection in the mirror starring at him. He wears strong clone simply because this way he doesn't like smelling other smells (including from other people). In the most recent TV show he's been on, he confirmed the fact that he carries 4 cell phones with him everyday and has like 5 humidifiers at his house! Alongside that he said he has a Martial Arts Gym on the first floor of his house and has a personal martial arts instructor to assist him in daily training.
Responses: Most people (i.e. my sister and my friend)'s response to this is that "man, this guys is weirdly egoistic!" And yes, I think that is exactly why his favorite clone is Chanel's Platinum Egoist. Because in a way....that's him!
THE RECENT THOUGHT...
So recently, I got the most addicted to Platinum Egoist too. I wouldn't say that this is not because of Gackt, but truely this is not only because of Gackt. After smelling it for the first few times (at this point not considering wearing it b/c I'm a girl...), I became pretty addicted to the smell. After much debate, I finally bought it and start wearing it (finally gotten over the fact that girls can wear clone too.........thu still iffy weird in a way...). Anyhow, I couldn't resist.
However, I've been a huge believer about how smell describes a person, and this concept made me realize recently that......you know...maybe I also have that egoist within me! Most people who know me know I am very approachable, understanding and friendly, which is a completely contradictory to an egoistic image. Yet, after much thought about myself, I realize in a way, I am very egoistic. I am very individulistic. I have my own thoughts and philosophy in which I follow. I have my own goals and dreams to catch and aim for. I could be very stubborn at times. Maybe the reason why I am addicted to Platinum Egoist is because the clone/perfume captures that essence of me. And to push the concept further, maybe the reason I often get attracted to "unique" guys like Gackt (thu just a celebrity) is b/c they reflect that essence of me....!
To confirm my random theory, I took a look at my hotlist from Facebook (as follows):
And I realized, from Gackt, Creme Brulee and Paris, to Chanel Platinum Egoist, Steinway and Blackberry. This definitely represent the egoist and luxurious side of me ---- always aiming for the finest and most delicate things!!! Wow, in a way ...I still think this is quite freaky!!! Hehe....but it's all me ;)
